Context & Concept
While air pollution is drastically increasing due to our heavier carbon footprint, the particle matter has turned into a "silent killer" that crosses all borders posing a severe health threat and a significant decrease in life expectancy. PM 2.5 is responsible for an estimated 4.2 million premature deaths every year globally.
How it Works
The installation uses an air quality sensor to measure the concentration of particles in the air and based on that it creates music that gets distorted and changes its harmony. The newly formed "continents" you can see on the globe are pollution particles seen under a microscope.
